Welcome to the official documentation for Meridian VMS — a self-hosted, multi-server video management system with GPU-accelerated AI object detection.

What is Meridian VMS?¶

Meridian VMS is an enterprise-grade video management platform designed for organisations that need full control over their surveillance infrastructure. It supports RTSP/ONVIF IP cameras with no per-camera licensing fees.

Key capabilities:

• Multi-server recording — distribute cameras across multiple recording servers
• AI object detection — GPU-accelerated YOLO detection with custom model training
• WebRTC live streaming — sub-second latency live view in any modern browser
• Alarm management — configurable alarm rules with SOP checklists, escalation, and notifications
• Role-based access control — granular page, action, and location-based permissions
• ONVIF integration — auto-discovery, PullPoint events, time synchronisation
